So I guess I took a casual year off from blogging.
Whenever I return to writing, I often think about the discipline I had when I started my first blog. In college I pushed myself to write five posts a week, one post per week day. And a lot of bloggers do that, every day. But my reality has changed since I was in school. My work days are dramatically longer and I tend to use my free time and energy to do some self-care (holler at SoulCycle), spending time with my friends, or just unplugging from a screen at the end of my day.
I decided a while ago that this blog would be different. I wouldn’t write when I didn’t want to, if I were too busy to contribute anything I thought would be meaningful. And I’ve really stuck to that principle. As a result, I took a hiatus. But in recent months, I’ve found myself more compelled to write and delve deeper than fashion, deeper than food. Make no mistake, those are things I still want to discuss and need to discuss as they are still very much a part of my life.
But in the coming months I want to write a little bit more about things on my mind. I’m not necessarily thinking politics but I am thinking about the challenges I face day to day as a woman or even as a person living in the most expensive city in the country.
Honestly, this will take time to write more meaningful content. But if you’re patient enough to bear with me, I truly appreciate it.
So cheers for what’s to come!
